I have had this app for years and although I rarely use it, I really liked it and thought it was excellent. Apparently one of the recent (?) updates added ads. This week, when I tried to play chess, a full screen ad came on with no apparent way to close the ad and use the game. That stinks! REPLY TO AI'S REPLY - When I got the app probably 12 or more years ago it was called "Chess Free" and it had no ads. It was by AI Factory. Same icon. Same look. No ads.

Google forced the ad-based "Chess free" to be renamed "Chess" some years ago as "free" is no longer allowed in titles. The old paid "Chess" was then renamed "Chess Pro". You can get lifetime ad-free use of chess with a single one-off fee to buy "AI Factory Chess Pro" or if you already purchased, please simply install it from the app store.

Too many ads. I used to rate this 5 stars but ads have become too aggressive. I have to close ap repeatedly to get them to stop. At some point in time I will give up and find a new "free" chess game. BTW Response to me is not true. Way more than "5" seconds. update; ads are even worse. when you exit game it sends you to a website that I have to delete

Our ad rate is lower than most and keeps our apps free. Unfortunately ad networks control their behaviour & change over time. Skip ads within 15 seconds with >>/X/Close. If >> disappears, tap where it was. If ads go to Google Play, tap device "back". Report bad ads to [email protected]. "AI Factory Chess Pro" has no ads for a one-off low fee.

the ads on this game are insanely aggressive. the video will turn with audio. the only way to turn it off is to exit the app. it's not discreet at all. I will be uninstalling it soon, just because of the ads. the frustrating part, it use to never have ads. edit. I installed Lichess chess app. it's free & no ads. 10 years of using chess & I was forced to switch because of aggressive video ads. DUMB! So long you greedy people!

The app always had ads. All should be skippable but ad networks control their behaviour. Turn off media volume to stop ad audio. Skip ads within 15 seconds with >>/X/Close. If >> disappears, tap where it was. If ads go to Google Play, tap device "back" key. Please report bad ads to [email protected]. Chess Pro has no ads for a one-off low fee
